Restore a sharp, precise edge to all your knives in just a few movements. Thanks to its magnetic fixed-angle system and diamond discs, this sharpener guarantees a perfectly consistent result even without any prior experience. Forget complex techniques; it’s all about simplicity and efficiency.
Why choose the Just Cook Eat Rolling Knife Sharpener?Picture the scene: it's Sunday night, and you're preparing a roast chicken. Your knife slips on the skin, struggles through the meat, and the tomato ends up crushed rather than sliced. Frustrating, yet avoidable. With our rolling sharpener, two minutes are all you need to restore an edge worthy of a new knife, without technical skills, without risk, and without a second thought.
Your hands stay away from the edge during the entire process. The magnetic support holds the blade, you guide the roller.
You can feel the difference from the very first cut. A few passes are enough, even on a very dull knife.
Compatible with the vast majority of straight-edge knives: chef's knives, Japanese knives, paring knives...
Natural wood body, compact, 100% manual. No batteries, no plugs, no breakdowns. A tool for a lifetime.
The magnetic support mechanically locks the angle. No guesswork, no technique to master. Precision is built-in.

This rolling sharpener was designed for everyone who wants sharp knives without becoming a sharpening expert. It bridges the gap between the beginner who has never held a whetstone and the experienced cook looking for a reliable, fast, everyday tool.
No technique to master. The angle is set mechanically. You can't go wrong.
Real time-saver: two minutes are enough to regain an impeccable edge before every use.
The 15° angle is exactly what Japanese blades require: often impossible to maintain by hand.
Elegant wood design, compact size. A memorable gift idea for cooking enthusiasts.
Our rolling sharpener arrives complete, ready to use. Here is exactly what you receive and what each component brings to your setup.
📦 Kit contents- 1 wood body (natural or black wood finish), compact, stable, natural anti-slip on the countertop
- 1 diamond disc 400 grit for restoring very dull or damaged blades
- 1 diamond disc 1000 grit for regular sharpening, finishing, and polishing the edge
- High-power magnetic support (neodymium magnets) for firm blade hold without slipping
- Integrated 15° and 20° angles, selectable in one movement, adapted to all types of knives
The main innovation lies in the magnetic support, which mechanically imposes the appropriate angle for each blade type:
The angle for high-precision knives: Japanese blades (gyuto, santoku, nakiri) and Damascus steel. Exceptional cutting fineness for delicate tasks.
The standard angle for classic kitchen knives and European chef's knives. Robust, durable edge for all preparations.

Looking to complete your arsenal with other grits?
💡 Need to take your finish beyond 1000 grit? Additional diamond or stone discs are available separately: from 240 up to 10,000 grit for a razor-sharp finish.
How to use your rolling sharpener?Usage is totally intuitive: if you have ever used a rolling pin, you already know how to sharpen a knife with this tool. Here is the method in three steps and two grits.
Pre-step: choose your grit- 400 grit first: if your knife is very dull or damaged. It reshapes the blade's bevel.
- 1000 grit after (or alone): for regular maintenance and finishing. It smooths and polishes the edge.
Place the magnetic support on a flat, stable surface. Position the knife against the magnet, selecting the appropriate angle (15° for Japanese blades, 20° for European). The magnet holds the blade; you don't need to hold anything.
Slide the cylindrical roller along the blade from heel to tip in a fluid motion. The rolling action does the work for you: no force, no excessive pressure. Repeat five to ten passes depending on the blade's condition.
Test the edge on a sheet of paper or a tomato skin. The cut should be clean, fluid, and effortless. If necessary, follow up with a few extra passes with the 1000 grit for finishing.
For a "razor" result, always respect the order of the grits: start with the 400 if the blade is very damaged, then always finish with the 1000 or finer. This second pass smooths out the micro-scratches left by the coarse grit and removes the burr, that residual wire edge that gives the illusion of sharpness but collapses on the first cut. A well-sharpened knife extends the life of your blades and your cutting board.
Is this sharpener suitable for Japanese knives?
Yes, and that is even one of its strong points. Japanese blades are designed for a 15° angle per side, an angle very difficult to maintain by hand on a stone. The magnetic support mechanically locks this angle: you can't miss it. The 1000 grit disc provides a finish suited to hard steels. The only caveat: traditional single-bevel knives, like some yanagiba, require a specific side-by-side approach.
How long does it take to sharpen a knife?
Expect about two minutes for a regularly used but undamaged knife: a few back-and-forth strokes with the 1000 grit are enough. For a very dull or slightly chipped blade, start with the 400 grit and allow for five to ten minutes. The actual time depends mostly on the starting condition of the edge, not your skill: since the angle is fixed, a beginner takes the same amount of time as an experienced user.
What is the difference between this sharpener and a honing steel?
They are two different and complementary actions. The honing steel aligns: it straightens an edge that has been micro-deformed through use, without removing material. The rolling sharpener sharpens: its diamond discs abrade the steel to recreate a new edge on a truly dull blade. A honing steel will never save a knife that no longer cuts. In practice, you use the honing steel weekly and sharpen a few times a year.
Do the diamond discs need to be wetted?
No. The diamond discs are used dry, unlike whetstones that require prior soaking. No liquid, no oil, no preparation. After use, simply wipe the disc with a dry cloth to remove metal particles. Also, dry your blade before storing it: it's residual moisture, not sharpening, that damages a knife in the long term.
Do the discs wear out and can they be replaced?
Diamond discs wear out slowly, much more slowly than a stone. For normal domestic use, expect 6 months to 2 years before noticing a drop in performance. They are replaceable, and a full range of additional discs is available separately, from 240 grit for repair up to 10,000 grit for a mirror polish. You can therefore upgrade the tool according to your needs without buying the body again.
Can it be used on serrated knives, scissors, or ceramic blades?
No, and we prefer to be clear about that. Serrated knives have teeth where each hollow must be worked individually, which a flat disc cannot do. Scissors require sharpening on only one side of the bevel with a dedicated tool. Ceramic blades require a specific diamond abrasive and very controlled pressure. This sharpener is designed for straight steel blades: chef's, Japanese, paring, santoku knives.
What is the difference from a HORL sharpener?
The mechanical principle is the same: a magnetic fixed-angle support and an abrasive diamond roller. The HORL benefits from superior finishing and machining, with German manufacturing that can be felt in the hand. Our model applies the same principle for about a third of the price. If you are looking for the most refined object and budget is not a constraint, the HORL remains a reference. If you are looking for the best performance-to-price ratio, our model is designed exactly for that.

The knife is fixed to the magnetic support → roll the sharpener back and forth on the stone → the angle is automatically perfect thanks to the magnetic positioning.
Delivery times may vary from 3 to 10 days depending on location.
Yes, it's compatible with all smooth-bladed knives : chef's, santoku, utility, and peeler. It works with all types of materials too! Only serrated knives are not compatible.
Yes, it's a powerful magnet that keeps the blade perfectly stable throughout the sharpening process. No vibration, no slippage.
Drag the blade across a sheet of paper - it should cut cleanly without tearing. You can also test it on a tomato without pressing: a well-sharpened knife will sink in effortlessly. If the blade slides or tears, go over it once with 400 grit and then finish with 1000 grit. Note: with basic European knives, it will sometimes be impossible to achieve this result, the goal being to get as close as possible!
