Place the TG12™ on a flat surface. The non-slip pads keep the tool from sliding. Grip the soft-touch handle firmly and comfortably.
Depending on the condition of your blade: stage 1 if very damaged, stage 2 for regular maintenance, stage 3 directly if your knife is still in good condition and you just want to refresh it.
Insert the knife into the chosen slot. Gently pull towards you, from the heel to the tip, in a fluid and light motion. Let the abrasive materials do the work — no need to force.
Always finish with stage 3 (ceramic). 3 to 5 passes are enough. Test on a sheet of paper or a tomato skin: the cut should be clean, fluid, effortless.
Successful sharpening requires no force. It's the consistency of the movement that makes the difference, not the pressure applied. Let the natural weight of the knife and the abrasives do their job — too much pressure would unevenly wear the blade and reduce the lifespan of your knives. The less you force, the better you sharpen.
